Lorraine Desmarais, jazz pianist and composer is known in the United States, Europe, Asia and Africa for his performances in solo, trio and big band. She has also performed with several symphony orchestras including the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal, Orchestre Symphonique de Laval and the Orquesta Sinfonica de Galicia, Spain. In 1984 she took off on the jazz scene in the country while the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal awarded him a first prize. It now has nine albums to his credit of original compositions, sometimes including some jazz standards. Two of these albums (Jazz Trio Lorraine Desmarais and Christmas) won the Felix. Lorraine Desmarais has performed in concert with international artists such as Oliver Jones, Chick Corea, Joanne Brackeen, Marian Mc Partland, Tiger Okoshi, Paquito D'Rivera, Guido Basso, Jane Bunnett, Alain Caron, François Bourassa, Michel Cusson and the Diva Big Band in New York.
