Renters And Fish Tanks
Vietnam :
second film by Tran Anh Hung that I have to see, Ride is very different from the other realization of this Vietnamese filmmaker (A horizontally summer I saw and the smell of green papaya ... I must see it lol), this based on a screenplay and a darker atmosphere and more unhealthy, the film was not shot in studio but directly in the streets Ho Shi Minh.
With indisputable advantages, the film starts TAH in shades of previous productions with the themes of its own: The family, money, women (but addressed very suggested modesty Vietnamese forces), but the more we advance in the film is more these issues will move away to make room for others more black.
Also I think the term "descent into hell is more than appropriate to symbolize the film.
Thus the film is changing enormously, thus avoiding stagnation, the thread of history is constantly in action This renewed interest throughout our history.
The second strong point of this movie are the characters, incredibly worked, whether the hero (incredibly endearing), ca big sister (Unfortunately too erased in the film, even if it takes still a big role, sister who is played by the gorgeous and talented Tran Nu Yen Khe, which is a great actress and the little darling of Tran Anh Hung who never makes a film without that presence (The fact that it necessarily helps his wife agreed to appear in all the movies ... and the shame that it shows opposite person, even beyond its country of origin).
But the film is illuminated by the presence egallement Tony Leung Chiu Wai, who is, as usual I will tell you, extraordinary, mysterious, speaking and acting can be quite a class that characterizes nature.
Each AC has own personal psychology and the history this place around them, this way of method I like Asse.
We also note in passing a lot of work on the lighting that it would simply outstanding in this film, shades and colors, how to play with bright natural and synthetic ... Everything is top level From this point of view.
The film is really good, one small thing preventing me to find really great is a little cumbersome in the narrative, not necessarily long but a bit clumsy from time to time.
I also regret the end, even if the conclusion of the film Assé I like the last part is a bit long and may lack a certain rhythm of a scene outside on the hero (with the paint to set you free spoiler) which is really good.
Finally there are still scenes ultra worship (especially when the hero returns covered in mud, the first appearance of Tony Leung and the scene of the knife (see screen)), the film has thus undeniable qualities but I still preferred "A horizontal of Summer" which seems out of control.
A very good movie nonetheless and a very good choice for those who want to learn Vietnamese film (because ultimately less confusing than other productions of the real, which are less rhythmic).
Violence: Yes, sometimes considerably.
Gender: Vietnamese film, absolutely not
Shock: Maybe, some scenes are Assé steep but logically it should not ...
